Fostering independence in our students is a key aim, and as your daughters start secondary school, you as parents realise you will be less involved with their daily lives. However, effective communication between WHS and parents is of course vital. We outline here the methods we use to keep you informed.

SchoolPost

We use SchoolPost for our communications, grouping emails where at all possible to our weekly Wednesday mail-out. This is headed up by a 'week ahead' email of dates for the upcoming week and is followed by any messages targeted to specific year groups, sports squads, etc. Sometimes we will of course have to send emails at other times in the week. You may at times be required to fill in a quick online form - we indicate in the subject line of any email if an RSVP is needed, and by when.

The weekly mailing will land in parents' inboxes  (around 10am Wednesdays) and also in a personalised SchoolPost inbox that keeps all your messages from WHS in one searchable place online.

To access this, press the green 'View online' box at the bottom of any school message and then the grey 'Mailbox' option top left, which will take you to will take you to your SchoolPost inbox. You will use your school (Firefly) password.

Evolve

We use Evolve for all administration for school trips. The initial launch letter about a new trip will go out in Evolve and via SchoolPost, clearly stating the deadline for sign-up. Once your daughter is signed up for a trip (or in the case of a trip being applicable to the entire year group or sports squad, without signing up) you will receive all subsequent emails from TripsandVisits via Evolve. This system ensures all our trips administration is kept together.

Sports Fixtures

We recommend all parents of girls who are regularly involved in sports teams at WHS to access www.wimbledonhighsports.com from your mobile phone. This will enable you to see upcoming fixtures and team lists and sync with your family calendar so that you have the latest up-to-date information to hand.

News online

We regularly update our website with news and photos of recent activities, and you can follow social media for more immediate updates.

The Head writes to parents at least once every half term.
