The 2nd XI team played very well at the tournament on the 11th of October. The matches were 7 aside and 10 minutes long with 2-minute breaks in between. We started off slowly with two losses; 4-1 to Gordon’s and 1-0 to St Teresa’s Effingham but after a break and a strategy session (using a press to defend and attack), progress was made, and we drew 0-0 with Tormead with our first victory against King’s College following shortly.

We later won 1-0 to Latymer Upper School, a great achievement and contrast to our last match against them. There was some great defending work and energy all around with Tabitha notably scoring in a shuffle. The team’s last match was against Ibstock Place and the final score was 1-1. The team stayed positive throughout and persevered with some great carries up the pitch by Simonna, Isobel, and Tabitha.

There were countless successful tackles and interceptions from Sofia, Hannah, and Rose who did some really good work intercepting shots at goal. Kiki also did especially well with some fantastic saves in shuffles and during the rest of the matches.
