The match ended with 4-3, to Kingston Grammar School. Although we lost, everyone tried their hardest.

The game started off evenly, with shots at the goal from both teams, none of which succeeded. Eventually, Wimbledon’s forward scored, bringing the score to 1-0, to Wimbledon. A few more shots at the Wimbledon goal brought the score to 1-1. The game suddenly intensified, both teams determined to have the lead by half-time. Once again, Wimbledon’s forward got past the Kingston goalie, and Wimbledon were in the lead 2-1. Kingston were desperately hitting at the Wimbledon goal until they evened out the score. 2-2 at half time!

Shortly after the start of the second half, Kingston took another shot at the Wimbledon goal and broke the tie, with a score of 2-3. We were determined to put up our best fight and brought the score back to a tie, with an amazing shot from midfielder Alice K.

There were shots at both goals, until finally, Kingston scored again, bringing the score to 4-3. Where it remained.

We worked amazingly as a team, and the number of shots at goal were astounding. One thing we could work on is making our passes more accurate. Well done to everyone for playing their best, despite the terrible weather conditions. A big shout out to Grace W, as this was her first match as a goalkeeper.
