U15A hockey vs St Teresa’s Effingham

Final score: 5-1 W

It was our first time playing as a team since last term, but we did really well to come home with a victory. We started off the first half a bit rocky, but thanks to Imi we scored three goals very quickly. The opposition were aggressive and had two really good players who dribbled from end-to-end a couple of times but didn’t end up scoring because of our strong defence - especially some great tackles from Amelie.

In the second half we tried to lengthen our transfers to make a full impact on switching the ball. We did this successfully and scored twice more in the second half. Unfortunately, they managed a last-minute goal from a short corner. However, thanks to a great pass from Eva that went from our half all the way to Henny inside the D, we scored with twenty seconds to go!

It was a brilliant match with a competitive opposition. Our passes ahead of each other, strong tackles, and shots in the D helped us to win. Next time we will try to work on more transfers, and our short corners as it was a shame, we did not manage to score from any of them.
