This policy applies to Junior School, Senior School and EYFS

It is the school's policy to ensure all pupils in their care have access to quality medical support and are provided for according to their needs 

The protocols & guidance  within this policy have been developed to support the nursing team as well as the staff to ensure  that all students may have full access to education including school trips and PE. 

We currently have one full-time and one part-time nurse covering the whole school Monday to Friday, term time.

Role of the Nurse

  • The Nurse/s will work with parents and in partnership with other agencies inc. GP's, Social work, other health care professionals as appropriate to ensure the holistic care of the students

It is the responsibility of parents:

  • To ensure their child is well enough to attend school (in line with school policy)
  • To provide full details of any medical condition affecting their child and any regular medication required by the child
  • To keep the school informed of any changes to their child’s health or medication
  • To work in partnership with the school to ensure the well-being of their child
