An update from India Y8 who represented WHS at the 2026 Public School Fencing Championships, Congratulations. 

There were 65 fencers in my Mount-Hayes Girls Foil class (fencers born September 1 2011 to August 31 2014). In the first poule round I won all my matches and only lost three points which placed me 3 out of 65. This meant I was exempt from poule round number two and direct elimination round 1. In the table of 32, I won my match again, which put me into the table of 16. In this round I unfortunately lost against a Year 9 fencer. I overall placed 10 out of 65 (last year I placed 36 out of 95). Overall, I learned a lot from today and hopefully I will be back even stronger next year.
