After all our matches, we had won all of them except one. With all our hard work we had got into the semi-finals.
We were against Putney; a school we have never beaten before. We could do this, even if we didn’t win, we had still gotten through to the semi-finals. We had warmed up and we were having a team talk as we looked around; I could see the year 8s and year 9s in the fence cheering wildly like lions roaring to get their food. I could feel everyone’s nerve building up, but I knew that was going to take advantage from us playing amazingly.
We went on the court already to show all we had learnt. The whistle blew “Beep!” We passed the ball calmly through court and got the goal. “Yes!” the crowd roared. It was their centre, they got it in. It went on like this for the whole match, sometimes they would get the ball but sometimes we would also intercept the ball.
We got to the end of the game; it was a draw, so we had extra time. We drew again, so we had to pass on to Golden Goal. This unfortunately was when we lost but we learnt so much of how to improve and was a very fun experience.
