I am pleased to confirm that our cross-country teams have delivered outstanding performances at several key events throughout the year.
At the Merton Event, we had 33 students participating, with impressive results including:
WHS Equestrian team had a busy summer this year representing the school at various key events.
We are pleased to report that both Eleanor W and Inez S qualified for the NSEA National Showjumping Championships at Hickstead, which took place on August 21st. Unfortunately, Inez had to withdraw from the competition owing to an unsound pony, however Eleanor was able to compete in the 50cm final on her pony, Warnois Panache, riding brilliantly to secure a clear round. This event was optimum time rather than fastest and Eleanor came 36th out of a final field of 146 entries which is a fantastic result.
We are so delighted to confirm that three of our students competed in the GB trials this weekend, a first for WHS Boat Club!
Great racing from Mia P, Iris F and Imogen L for their first early ID trials. Go Wimbledon!!
We are extremely proud of your progress, well done from all of us here at WHS.
We were pleased to invite Jessica O'Kelly, performance psychologist, into WHS, to talk to last years' U16A Netball squad, they looked at strategies which could help them when participating in any sport.
Here is a brief report from their session:
Our squad found the session with Jess extremely useful; it made us think about our motivations and strategies when it comes to important match play.
This weekend was the WHSBC Ergathon! It is one of our most highly anticipated fundraising events that brings our rowing community together. This year, we decided to row to Nottingham, as it is the location for the National Schools Regatta, which will be held in May 2025.
A total of 185 girls and parents came together to row a combined distance of 240 kilometres, a hugely impressive distance. There were some huge efforts from our girls and from the parents on the rowing machines, all pushing themselves to finish first! Thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of all participants, we completed the challenge in just two and a half hours, with the effort split across six teams. Everyone showed incredible teamwork and community spirit.
