The opening match against Freemen's school ended in an 11-4 , followed by 12-6 loss to the host team Tourmead. Despite these results, both games were competitive, with strong pressure and improved movement of the ball throughout the court.
On Friday, we hosted the GDST (The Girls' Day School Trust) Select Teams cricket trials at Wimbledon High School GDST, welcoming 50 students from GDST schools across the country. The standard was exceptional, with girls travelling from as far as Newcastle, Wales, Durham and Liverpool, most competing at representative and/or county level. The GDST Select Teams programme continues to provide our most able cricketers with the opportunity to compete at a level beyond what is typically available within school sport.
Our summer fixtures kick off with an exciting trip to the UAE, competing in The R66T Academy Dubai International Cup, followed by matches against Epsom College 1st XI, Marylebone Cricket Club and the British Army, before finishing at the Apex Festivals Cricket Festival.
