On Wednesday we played Streatham and Clapham after a long seasonal break.
Started off equally matched with a few chances in the first half and some amazing saves from Molly (GK). After a few unlucky break sways Streatham went 1-0 up. We then scored a quick equaliser as a deflection from Lucy after a Lauren racing hit.
We fought but they had a few lucky chances and ended with a 3-1 win going to them. Special mention to MOM Heloise.
St George’s were a strong side, throughout the match we managed to close the gap in the score by quite a bit, getting in to the flow of working together (as the team had some u16s in the squad) It really helped us keep possession of the ball more, turning over centre passes and getting interceptions too.
The overall score was 44-20 to St George’s with the player of the match being Immy L at GA.

The team played extremely well with a winning total of 33-11 to us against St. Georges Weybridge. Everyone played really well even though we were missing a few people.
In the first quarter the attacking was good, but a few mistakes were made - the score at the end of the quarter was 5-5. In the second quarter we tried harder not to make the mistakes by making space and keeping our feet still; therefore, we played well and the defending was very good.
In the third quarter, we played exceedingly well, and our attackers did great, we came to a strong finish of the quarter with around 27 goals. Finally, we finished by relaxing slightly as we were winning by 33-11. The whole team were exceptional, and I think everyone enjoyed it thoroughly.
The game started strongly for us and we really used our centre passes to our advantage. We also made some interceptions which led to turnovers and ultimately goals from Emma, Elodie and Rose.
After the first quarter, we were leading by about 7 goals which boosted our confidence going into the rest of the game. Our passing and general play throughout the court was very strong, although, throughout, their centre passes also resulted in some good goals from them.
I think we could work on making sure we use the whole 3 seconds we each have on the ball and aren’t making rushed passes.
U15A hockey vs St Teresa’s Effingham
Final score: 5-1 W
It was our first time playing as a team since last term, but we did really well to come home with a victory. We started off the first half a bit rocky, but thanks to Imi we scored three goals very quickly. The opposition were aggressive and had two really good players who dribbled from end-to-end a couple of times but didn’t end up scoring because of our strong defence - especially some great tackles from Amelie.
