GDST Football

The U13 Football Team showed great team spirit at the GDST Rally on Thursday 5th March. They fought well in a group of 10, winning 3 games, losing 3 and drawing 2 before winning their playoff on penalties. They thoroughly enjoyed the day and played some great two-touch football.

Junior Inter-regional Team Trials

Last Sunday saw rowers from J14-J16 compete in the Junior Inter-regional team trials.

All the girls had great performances, especially considering the lack of water time we have had with the rain!

Our J15 double came 3rd, J16 8+ 2nd and we had 3 girls selected to represent Thames London West at the upcoming Inter-regional regatta where they will race against the top rowers in the country.

MCC Cricket

The U15s took part in the MCC Indoor Tournament at Lord’s. After finishing second in the group stages on net run rate, they progressed to the 3rd vs 4th play-off against Notting Hill & Ealing High School - a side we had previously lost to in the group stages and who featured three GDST Select players. Having learned from that earlier match, the girls turned the tide when it mattered most, delivering an excellent performance to secure the 3rd place medals.

Elevate Festival

On Friday 13th February 16 Y7 and Y8’s went to the GDST Elevate wellbeing day at Sutton High School. The students had a great day exploring different workshops ranging from Breath work, Yoga to Flamenco Dancing.

Netball Triumph: WHS Teams Reach Surrey Finals

A fantastic achievement for our U13, U14, U15, and U16 Netball teams, who have all qualified for the Surrey Finals after successfully navigating the preliminary rounds. The U13 and U15 teams were undefeated in their qualifiers, a remarkable testament to their skill and determination. Competing against other Surrey schools — with U14, U15, and U16 in October, and U13 in February — each team has secured a spot among the top 12 schools in the county for their age group. We are incredibly proud of their commitment, teamwork, and perseverance as they look forward to representing WHS at the Finals at Shirley High School in March.
