Congratulations to our U14 swimmers on an outstanding performance in the GDST Swimming Competition, finishing an impressive 3rd overall. Competing against strong opposition, they demonstrated remarkable determination, skill, and teamwork throughout the event, and we are immensely proud of their achievement. A special well done to Issy B, Freia H-T, Emmeline E, and Emma H, who were instrumental in helping the team secure 3rd place overall. Particular congratulations to Emma H, who earned a silver medal in the 50m Butterfly, and to Emmeline Eales, who swam up several year groups to complete the team — a fantastic testament to their commitment and versatility.
A huge congratulations to our U16 Hockey Team, who reached the National Plate Semi Finals following excellent performances against Kent College (3–2), Lancing College (5–0) and Hurstpierpoint College (3–2) in the Quarter Final. Although their campaign concluded this week against Kingswood, their success in advancing so far in a national competition is a remarkable achievement, and we are extremely proud of their commitment and spirit.
We are incredibly proud that several of our students have been selected for GDST Select Teams this term, with WHS strongly represented across Football, Hockey, Netball and Cricket — a wonderful testament to their talent, dedication and hard work.

The U14B team competed in the Tourmead Tournament on the 12th of February, playing three 24-minute matches.
The opening match against Freemen's school ended in an 11-4 , followed by 12-6 loss to the host team Tourmead. Despite these results, both games were competitive, with strong pressure and improved movement of the ball throughout the court.
On Friday, we hosted the GDST (The Girls' Day School Trust) Select Teams cricket trials at Wimbledon High School GDST, welcoming 50 students from GDST schools across the country. The standard was exceptional, with girls travelling from as far as Newcastle, Wales, Durham and Liverpool, most competing at representative and/or county level. The GDST Select Teams programme continues to provide our most able cricketers with the opportunity to compete at a level beyond what is typically available within school sport.
Our summer fixtures kick off with an exciting trip to the UAE, competing in The R66T Academy Dubai International Cup, followed by matches against Epsom College 1st XI, Marylebone Cricket Club and the British Army, before finishing at the Apex Festivals Cricket Festival.
