U16A Netball - Surrey Preliminary Round 10 October 2024

We had great success at Surrey qualifiers, placing second in our pool and advancing to the finals next March with only one loss. The day started off slowly but we managed to recover our first game, this gave us a good flow throughout the day.

We played well as a team and were able to gain confidence in each other and try different combinations. In the future we will look to start stronger and improve on our timing of passes.

Overall it was a good day and we can't wait for finals.

U12E Hockey match v Sutton High School on Tuesday 15 October 2024

In the E team match against Sutton High School, we lost 4/3. The support from our substitutes was amazing and they were cheering us on.

The first goal was scored by Laura-Emilia and the last two by Olivia R. We had tremendous support by our defenders- Mia in the first half and Luna, Layla, and Eloise in the second.

We played very well on this occasion.

We are delighted to confirm that Eliza has been very busy with Fencing competitions in the past month.  Travelling to Nottingham, Eliza participated in the British Cadet and Junior National Championships in the U17 age group and came 18th out of 80 participants.  In the U14 age group finals Eliza came 5th out of 40!  A wonderful achievement.

Daisy LV (Yr 7) Gymnastics competition update

We are so pleased to share that Daisy LV in Yr 7 came 2nd in her regional Gymnastics competition last weekend (out of 43 competitors), only missing out on gold by 0.05! What an amazing achievement, well done Daisy, that is wonderful.

Not only did Daisy obtain silver but she has now also qualified to represent the South East region at the National finals in November!!   We cannot wait to hear about your experience in the finals.

Well done from all at WHS.

U16 Football team at the GDST Rally in Northampton

We are so pleased to confirm that our U16 team won the GDST Football Rally yesterday at Northampton Girls School.

Here is their report:

We started the tournament with our heads high not expecting much. We were there to show the best versions of ourselves and that’s exactly what we did. We won the first two matches which fuelled our motivation. Following that we drew 0-0 which was the only draw in the whole tournament. Everyone was playing incredible football even though we hadn’t played as a team before. Then we proceeded to win the next match with a lovely goal from Alva which secured us the win in our group. Because of this we triumphed into the quarter finals. The level of football being played just kept on getting better as every individual highlighted immaculate skill. We then won the quarter final 2-0 and entered the semi-final full of energy.
