Alisa competed in a couple of tennis tournaments over half term.
Alisa and her partner won U16 doubles (Grade 3) Harpenden Open, defeating in the final the 1st seed pair, and then in the U14 doubles (Grade 3) Woking Whitsun Open, winning with another partner.
What a busy half term, well done Alisa....
The J15 eights both delivered
outstanding performances, advancing to the A-Finals—a first for Wimbledon! The
J15 second eight finished 5th in their time trial, while
the J15 first eight came 2nd. This alone is a remarkable achievement! The
second eight gave their all in the final, finishing 6th and becoming the 6th
fastest second eight in the country. Congratulations to Arabella, Breanna,
Sophia, Katerine, Josephine, Aarabe, Bhairvi, Zara, and Anaya! The first eight
fought a tough race with a strong start, solid middle, and epic sprint,
securing 3rd place just 1.2 seconds ahead of Putney. Well
done to Florence, Alex, Iona, Emily, Charlotte, Ashlyn, Zoe, Emma, and Clemmie.
On Wednesday 22 May Kiana, Rochelle, Rhea and Alisa represented WHS in the 5th round of the U18 Aberdare National Cup vs. Peter Symonds College in Winchester.
It was an extremely competitive match, which they were drawing 6-6 after all singles and doubles were played. Sadly, they lost in the tie break, but they should be so proud of their performance.
Well done to the team – to get to the fifth round is such an achievement in itself!
Walton regatta saw the Yr8s and Yr9s racing over 1000m,
knock out, one on one style. It was an awesome day of racing and experience for
all our girls. For the Yr8s it was their first ever race! Our Yr9s had a great
regatta! With Caitlyn D and Carolina M D A winning the J14
double!
