Maya G - Squash update

In a further update we are delighted to hear that Maya (Yr7) competed in the England Squash Junior Intercounties Championships, in a team representing Surrey in the GU13s finals.

The matches came down to a decider which was a tense affair, against Wales.  Maya was 2-0 up, and got to Championship ball, but wasn't able to close it out (they play best of 5). The Welsh competitor then won the 4th game so it all came down to the 5th and last game. Maya picked herself up and won that 11-6, a great result!

U12B2 Hockey v Kingston Grammar School 23 February 2024

The match ended with 4-3, to Kingston Grammar School. Although we lost, everyone tried their hardest.

The game started off evenly, with shots at the goal from both teams, none of which succeeded. Eventually, Wimbledon’s forward scored, bringing the score to 1-0, to Wimbledon. A few more shots at the Wimbledon goal brought the score to 1-1. The game suddenly intensified, both teams determined to have the lead by half-time. Once again, Wimbledon’s forward got past the Kingston goalie, and Wimbledon were in the lead 2-1. Kingston were desperately hitting at the Wimbledon goal until they evened out the score. 2-2 at half time!
